Caroline Rackley PEACE AND PRAYER an investment in the realm of Greater Possibility. As a response to events which began on September 11, 2001, these works have been created to serve the needs of the Heart. Attempting beauty in these times brings healing. May these tapestries find a way to bring someone somewhere a little peace.
	In some of the tapestries in this series, the image of the International Banner of Peace originated by Nicholas Roerich is involved. Once the flag itself has been replicated; that red and white banner with the caption Pax cultura hangs at the Meetinghouse of the Santa Fe Religious Society of Friends, a gift from the Design Unlimited studio. Other banners, Blue Bird of Peace and Shadow on the Dove involve the three dots design, while Culture of Peace takes the flag motif into another range of color with slight variation upon the design.
